5 Simple Ways to Support Your Mental Health

Self-care, self-care, self-care! The biggest things you can do to support your own mental health are relatively simple. Not always easy, but certainly simple. Even just focusing on one of these can transform your life. I actually suggest starting with one and layering on others as you build the actions into a regular practice. 1. Gratitude Practice: This is the single most transformative thing you can do for your mental health. Pay attention throughout each day and recognize what you are grateful for, what give you a sense of awe, or just something you think is beautiful.

2. Movement: Work more intentional movement into your day. Choose to park a little further away from a store so you have an opportunity to walk more, take a yoga class or stand-up throughout the day. Use your body. 3. Volunteer: Find a cause touches your heart then find a way to help that cause.

4. Lose the negative self-talk: Stop being self-deprecating. Talk to yourself the way you would talk to someone you love. 5. Learn something new or dive into a creative project: In short... use your brain, challenge yourself and play. Have fun.
